Question  Need some suggestions
Hello all I'm building a new system shortly after Christmas, going to be replacing a 6 year old P4 system I built in college. Mostly going to be used for gaming, ripping music, encoding movies and general daily use. I'm looking to get the Phenom II x4 965 BE, but I'm not sure what motherboard would be good for me. I'm also planning on getting a HD6850 but not sure which company I should go with. I don't plan on overclocking at least at first, but probably never will as I have no experience doing so. I'm open to any suggestions, thanks in advance.

Hoping to stay close to $800, going over a little bit isn't a big deal. I should have listed more information in my original post.

Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE
Motherboard: ?
Graphics Card: HD 6850 (Which one?)
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
Memory: G.Skill 2GBx2 1600 (Already purchased)
Power Supply: Was looking at a 550+ watt Corsair or Seasonic?
Case: Lian-Li PC-K62
Optical Drive: Probably grab whatever CD/DVD drive that's on sale

That's not including odds and ends I might need, like fan cable extenders, shipping etc. I'm also interested in getting an aftermarket cooler since I see a lot of complaints about the quality/noise level that the factory AMD chips come with. Thanks again.

If you can spend $200 you could get the Gigabyte 6850 OC version which Mathieu recommended in the December update to best graphics cards for the money.

Gigabyte 6850 OC

RE: Need some suggestions
Do NOT buy a Gigabyte P55 board, I originally had one in my build and it worked for one day then after that it would not work, would just cycle on and off 1 second and 3 seconds. I read the reviews on NewEgg and several other people had this problem, I got an ASUS board instead, works fine.
