Lightbulb  Post your gaming pc, fps or benchs here
I decided to post this thread because many people ask themselves (including meBig Grin): which tier will give me the performance that i need to play?Huh and MathieuB doesn't have time or money to post so many builds performance, so I need your help

3 things you need to know before posting are The following:

1) Must be gaming performance with any build. Specify if is HR build if is one
2) you can post it like this MW3 @ extra settings @ 1280x1024 Res @ 58 fps tier x or parts you used (doesn't need to be in this exact order).
3)you can post videos or pictures of game play displaying the performance of your pc

This will give new builders an idea what will come when they decide their budget.
So. Let the experiment beginBig GrinExclamation
Thank You

RE: Post your gaming pc, fps or benchs here
I'll start it off. My PC is roughly the tier 8 build, exact specs are in my sig. For this purpose I did all the benchmarking at stock speeds (i7 950 @3.07ghz) just to make things less complicated. Also, I did the tests how most people game. I have my anti-virus, rainmeter, and a few other programs running in the background. Here are some results:

Resident Evil 5: max settings* @ 1080p, variable benchmark = 162.6 fps

Dirt 2: max settings @ 1080p, benchmark = 111.3 fps

Crysis: max settings @ 1080p, single player gameplay = 50fps

Portal 2: max settings @ 1080p, single player gameplay = 300fps

Unigine Heaven Benchmark v2.1 settings: DX11, Stereo 3D disabled, Shaders high, Tessellation normal, Anisotropy 16, Anti-aliasing 8x, 1080p.
48.7 Average fps
Score: 1226

Novabench Score: 1490

I get weird results with Futuremark stuff because of poor Crossfire X driver support. If anyone else wants to run these they are all (except for portal 2) free to download at the following locations.

Resident Evil 5 Benchmarking Tool - http://downloads.guru3d.com/Resident-Evi...-2331.html

Dirt 2 Demo - http://www.codemasters.com/downloads/det...p?id=39424 (the benchmarking mode is hidden under outside, options, graphics. It's at the bottom of the graphics menu.)

Crysis Demo - http://www.shacknews.com/file/24136/crysis-sp-demo (open the console with the ~ button and type "r_displayinfo=1" to display your fps.)

Novabench - http://novabench.com/

Heaven Benchmark - http://unigine.com/download/

3DMark - http://www.futuremark.com/

*Max Settings does not include vsync which limits the framerate.

RE: Post your gaming pc, fps or benchs here
My Tier 4 is screaming along! Check out this thread if you want to laugh at me stressing out during the whole build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500
Mobo: BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68
GPU: SAPPHIRE 100314-3L Radeon HD 6870 1GB
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-520 520W
RAM: G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
Case: COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II

Dirt 3: max settings, 4x AA
minimum FPS: ~58
average FPS: ~69

Just Cause 2: max settings, 4x AA, 16x AF (V-Sync On)
Benchmark Test #1 Average FPS: ~75
Benchmark Test #2 Average FPS: ~80
Benchmark Test #3 Average FPS: ~65

Team Fortress 2: max settings, 4x AA
minimum FPS: ~50
average FPS: ~60

Oblivion (no mods): max settings, 4x AA w/ Bloom
minimum FPS: ~40
average FPS: ~60

Oblivion (Nehrim mod): max settings, 4x AA w/ Bloom
minimum FPS: ~20
average FPS: ~25

Skyrim: Ultra settings, 1280 x 1024
minimum: ~30
average: ~45

Will edit with more tests as I get time to put more games on here (it's finals week for summer semester!), and I will definitely be posting Skyrim performance when it's out.

EDIT #2: I've spent the evening testing Oblivion, which is my best comparison for Skyrim when it comes out in November. Running Vanilla Oblivion (no mods) at max settings garnered ~60 FPS on average, with dips as low as ~40 in crowded areas or when caches loaded outside. Most of the time, though, it was steady at the monitor's refresh rate at 85. Thought I turned V Sync off, but you know what? 85 is just fine.

I also tested a German-made, much more graphically-intensive mod for Oblivion called Nehrim. I'd like to blame it on the reportedly buggy programming, but performance at max settings averaged ~25 (max: ~30, min: ~20). Not great, but I bet the resource-inefficiency of the mod is playing a small role in this. Either way, things look promising for running Skyrim unless the reqs are absolutely ridiculous.

EDIT #3: Broke down and bought Just Cause 2 in a fit of messed up priorities. Info added above! So pretty...

EDIT #4: Bethesda released the specs for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the game for which I bought this PC, today. I'm happy to announce that my build handily exceeds the minimim requirements:
"Recommended Specs
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
4GB System RAM
6GB free HDD space
DirectX 9 compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
DirectX compatible sound card
Internet access for Steam activation

Minimum Specs
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
2GB System RAM
6GB free HDD Space
Direct X 9 compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
DirectX compatible sound card
Internet access for Steam activation"
I'm hoping for max settings since I only use 1280 x 1024, but it doesn't come out until November 11th...we'll see after then.

EDIT #5: I've been way too busy playing the crap out of Skyrim to post specs. Oh, and fall semester finals...that, too. Anyway, it runs great maxed out at my preferred resolution, which is admittedly pretty low. The average FPS would actually be much higher, but VSync is recommended; the highest it ever goes is 60. The minimum of 30 was only really seen once when I was standing on a balcony in Markarth, looking down on the entire city. Overall, this was a tremendous success! I might post performance with graphics mods once the mod tools come out in January.
