HDMI not working.
Hey I just recently put together a new pc with only 1 problem so far. My monitor will work in DVI mode but when I change it to HDMI it works but with a black border/frame around the screen, and I cant seem to figure out how to fix this.

My video card is Radeon HD 6950, and the monitor is ASUS VH238. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: HDMI not working.
I googled around a bit and it seems like a pretty common problem, try this:

Quote:1. Switch to a lower resolution than native (e.g. 1280x720)
2. Open Catalyst Control Centre
3. Select Graphics (top left), Desktops and Displays
4. Click on the little black trangle in the top left of the SMALL (repeat SMALL) display icon at the
bottom of the window
5. Select Configure
6. Enable GPU Scaling
7. Click on the 'Scaling Options' Tab
8. Slide the Under/Overscan to 0%
9. Apply the settings
10. Switch back to full resolution (1080p)

Also make sure you have the latest version of Catalyst Control Center.

A lot of times with HDMI output, it doesn't scale correctly. I get the same problem with my laptop, which powers my TV.

RE: HDMI not working.
I have the same problem with my laptop and TV. I tried scaling it, but I get a bunch of scaling artifacts, which degrades the quality of the TV shows/movies.

Did you find a better way to fix this issue?
