Tier 5 Game PC options
I am building my first PC using the Tier 5 Gaming recommended but want to go ahead and upgrade a couple of the components for the future.

I am pretty sure I can use the Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5 motherboard and the Cousair 1000W 80plus gold modular power supply.

Is it OK to Also use the Tier 6 Patriot DDR3 1866 Mhz RAM? Thank you in advance for all the help.

RE: Tier 5 Game PC options
The build guides are a little out of date. I'd look for similar parts but step up to sixth generation CPUs, Sklake Z170 or H170 motherboards and DDR4 memory.

Core i5 6600K
GA-Z170X-Gaming5. full size ATX board vs a micro ATX and looks really nice.
I don't have a recommendation for memory. Haven't had an opportunity to shop or compare DDR4.

1000W is a lot of Power. Are you planning dual graphics cards?

RE: Tier 5 Game PC options
I am looking at dual graphic cards in the future. I thought the 1000w as overkill but figured I might need it for extra cooling if I did dual cards.
