thought that i would post this just in case someone runs into trouble with hyper threading disabling on non z170 boards, ie h170. if it were me inthink i would go ahead and pay anlittle extra cash and get a descent z170 even if i were using a non k cpu.

Woah, that's good to know.

Losing hyper-threading is a major performance hit, not something that I'd want.

So yeah, I'll recommend Z170 for overclocking.

Hmmm. I got a 404 page not found error. Did it move or something happen?

the article is still accessable thru that link i posted but they may have taken it down to update the following: Asrock has stated that on their h170 and b170 boards that only c-states and turbo boost where disabled. could be a cheaper option.

seperate article for that info too:

Hmm. Either there's something I'm doing wrong or they've taken both links down. Neither work for me.

Well I see what at least my iPhone is doing with tapatalk. Seems the ",news-" gets garbled up.
I found the news article searching directly on tomshardware but the ending on this URL is ",news-52189.html" instead of the "%2C31000.html" embedded here for the OC hyper threading link.

When I get home will try directly from the HR forum on my browser but seems the link gets changed either coming in or coming out.

Lol. I would love to upgrade if I knew what. My tapatalk and iOS is both up to date. Meanwhile still need to check on a PC. Forgot to do that last night.
