RE: Locked Skylake can be overclocked soon
if you have an asrock z170oc or msi z170 then overclock guide has put the new bios up on their download board. they took an i5-6400 up to 4.7M stable and run the the benches as well as an i3. really impressive in single and multithreaded benches with the exception of the pentium on multithreaded as would be expected.

the caveat being that the timing source for the bclk is also the timing source for the dram so those higher frequency kits will come in handy. also for some reason or the other the temp monitoring sensor does not work with this bios and reads 100 no matter what app you use so it would be wise to keep voltages below 1.4. they achieved those results with 1.375v on a x61 kraken cooler but saying that the i3 can be ran on weaker air coolers.

good luck
