Looking for a new motherboard
Hello!

So Im looking for a new motherboard, I found this one at a local store:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_HERO/

I want to know if it is any good or if there is anything better you can recommend at around that price range.

It´s gonna be used on a gaming PC to run the latest and greatest, I want it to be good at dispersing heat, to be able to do SLI or crossfire on it and it to be compatible with the 4th generation of intel core processors (1150 socket)

Thanks in advance!

RE: Looking for a new motherboard
It's a pretty solid board, I've heard mixed reviews.

Pros - Bundled Software and UEFI (BIOS) interface is one of the best. Good cooling.
Cons - Average Reliability & Performance compared to boards below:

Read into the MSI Gaming 7, and the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H (or the Black Edition).

GPU: NVIDIA Titan X, CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz OC'd @ 4.5GHz, Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4, Mem: 2x Corsair Dominator 2133MHz 8GB, SSD: Samsung 850 EVO, Case: Corsair Carbide 500R, PSU: Corsair TX850M, CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14, Case Fans: 4x Cooler Master Excalibur 120mm PWM, Monitors: 3x ViewSonic VX2270SMH-LED in NVIDIA Surround

That is a good motherboard. It has a lot of bells and whistles if your into that. If you like to overclock, it is robust enough for that.

If your looking for a no frills, rock solid stable board, I have been building with the Supermicro C7Z87-OCE. The BIOS is rather vanilla but it is the most stable Z87 board I have built with. Design is excellent and will provide superior air traffic across critical components. It will overclock but it is old school.

Yes it does. That is a solid board as well.

I ask because they are on local stores.

Of those 3, I'd grab the BLK edition. It's basically the same as Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H, but with more factory testing and a longer warranty, and it's black. Are you unable to purchase a motherboard online? I'd compare prices with Amazon, or B&H if you're international.

I would avoid a "Z87" motherboard at this point. Z97 is guaranteed to work with Devil's Canyon CPUs, and possibly the next generation of Intel CPUs. It also adds a few features, like faster connections for future SSDs.
