RE: Placing this order tomorrow
Alright, made some changes and they're in the attached shopping list (damned thing is getting too long to post out)

Besides the RAM and cooler suggestions, I changed to a cheaper power supply because the one that was the best deal just yesterday has almost doubled in price.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212+ comes with a cheap bottle of thermal paste, no need to buy a separate $5 one. Besides from that it looks good though.

RE: Placing this order tomorrow
And the RAM isn't going to get crowded with the cooler?

The Ripjaws is short enough that it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to put the RAM in before you install the heat sink.

RE: Placing this order tomorrow
Now that's a piece of information I'd never have known was important.

Are there any other "order of operations" rules to follow when it comes to the assembly?

And I've changed my order from 2 x 2GB of that G. Skill RAM to 4 x 2GB ... will it all still fit, do you figure?

There's no other important ones I can think of really that aren't common sense. Make sure to install the motherboard's I/O plate before trying to install the motherboard itself.

Yup, the RAM will still fit no problem even with 8GB. The heat spreaders are the same height.

Alright, not to plague this site, so that new power supply looks like it should work good, and I noticed you went back to the other processor:

Processor 1: AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - C3 Revision HDZ555WFGMBOX

How does that perform compared to: We can say both get unlocked to quadcore.

Processor 2: AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX450WFGMBOX

You're not plaguing any sites, but you're hijacking my threads repeatedly.

I don't really care too much, but for trying to keep track of what is being discussed where, it's confusing.

I suggest you open your own threads/topics, no offense intended.

No problem, I'm sorry, I thought our builds were so identical, we had similar concerns. I figured all my answered questions would benefit you as well : ). I think I'm all good now, thank you for being patient during this hijacking.

RE: Placing this order tomorrow
Yeah I started going through the budget gaming parts list that Matthew here put together, and I started with the top choice, cheapest, and couldn't help but add a few extras until I ended up spending $150 more than I originally wanted to.
