New SLI Build w Pics! Thanks for all the help!
First off, thanks for site and to anyone who answered my other forum posts!

This was my first build in like 7 years, and it was a breeze! The Corsair Carbide 500R was a joy to work with. Plenty of room to stuff cables behind the mobo, and through the rubber gromets. All the drives snapped into place, and the included fans were nice and quite.

ASRock mobo is great as well. Can check for UEFI updates within the UEFI itself, and does a good job with all the settings at auto. Thier windows utility seems to work as intended as well--letting you change OC settings within Windows. Post time is very short on bootup as well.

Samsung 840 is insane. Windows boots and loads everything within 8 seconds. Most games start instantaneously, and load levels within seconds. The benchmarks do seem a little low, compared to the reviews I've seen online. Not sure of the issue there.

So far, I seem to be stable with the i5 3570 overclocked to 4.5 GHz, and I've managed about a 20% OC out of the GPU cores. Haven't ran a ton of benchmarks yet. PCMark 07 score about 6000 even. 3DMark Firestorm is at 2000 even. Do those sound about right? Seems to run most games maxed out at 1920x1080, without many dips below 30 FPS.

Hyper 212 Does a good job of keeping temps down at that speed, and is relatively quite. The Cooler Master Excaliber fans, on the other hand, can get insanlely loud at full speed. I had to set them to "Level 2" (out of 10) in the BIOS, whatever that means.

Final Parts List:
  • 2 x PNY GeForce GTX 560s (free)
  • Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz
  • ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77
  • G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
  • Samsung 840 SSD 250 GB
  • Corsair Carbide Series Black 500R Mid Tower Computer Case
  • Corsair Enthusiast Series TX850M 850W
  • 2 x Cooler Master Excalibur 120mm PWM Computer Case Fans
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Try uploading to imgur and then just linking to either the album or to each picture. Smile

Thanks! It seemed like 4.6 and higher would be stable, but my temps were starting to exceed 85 C while running Prime 95, so I decided to stop there for now.

All these years on the internets, and I never used imgur...here goes!

The most fun part of new builds. Getting packages in the mail!!!

Hyper 212 ready to blow a bunch of hot air out the back. Is it worth it to add a 2nd fan?

Power tests, halfway through the build. White LEDs are pretty.

SLI baby! A little crowded in there. It seems one card is always 10 C higher than the other.

Final Cabling. (so far anyway).
