New 3930k PC shutting down and giving kernel power event 41 error
It ran all day yesterday without incident. I restored my system drive from a backup in case Windows got corrupted from all the sudden shutdowns.

Still working great! I checked event viewer and no Kernel 41 errors. It has ran overclocked at 4.1 Ghz for over 24 hours without error too.

RE: New 3930k PC shutting down and giving kernel power event 41 error
I neglected to mention that there was a Bios update to improve stability that I installed prior to it working flawless. I am sure that may have helped some too although I have not seen bios issues causing the problem I had.

Even though I do my own troubleshooting, I post these threads thinking someone may benefit from them. It also doesn't hurt to get input from other people as they may have experienced the same thing in the past and know the answer.

I'd wait a week before overclocking, just to insure that your PC is actually stable. Just in the case that it crashes again, so that way you can be sure that it's not caused by the overclocking.

It was shutting off over-clocked and not over-clocked before. My testing ruled out over-clocking as a cause.

at the ms win8 support board there were 2 instances where a bios flash fixed the 41 error. also an incompatible app or program from a win7 or xp design caused that error as well as conflicitng audio drivers. seems like ms has to do more updates for incompatible software.
