PC crashes during game play
I recently built this PC about a week ago and have been having issues with various games crashing. League of Legends and Borderlands 2. Basically I can be fine for hours and it'll crash sometimes it will be only 15~ minutes after a fresh boot.
My PC Specs: Mobo: Biostar TZ77XE3 HDD: Western Digital 500g CPU: i5 3570k GPU: Radeon HD 6870 RAM: Corsair xms3 2x4g PSU: Rosewill Hive 550w Some of the errors I have seen might indicate an issue with memory but I am uncertain. According to the extreme PSU Calculator I am fine: System Type: 1 physical CPU Motherboard: Regular - Desktop CPU Socket: Socket LGA 1155 CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3400 MHz Ivy Bridge CPU Utilization (TDP): 90% TDP Video Card 1: AMD Radeon HD 6870 IDE HDD 7200 rpm: 1 HDD DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive: 1 Drive PCI IDE Card: Yes USB: 4 Devices Fans Regular: 3 Fans 120mm; Keyboard and mouse: Yes System Load: 90 % Minimum PSU Wattage: 303 Watts Recommended Wattage: 353 Watts I was overclocking GPU/CPU but reset them to defaults. My GPU/CPU drivers are up to date. Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated! |

RE: PC crashes during game play
Are the crashes to desktop? or does your computer restart. If possible, post up pictures of what the crashes look like. Another suggestion is to monitor your temps, you might have installed the CPU fan incorrectly and it may be overheating. You can use HWMonitor to monitor your components.
Cheers.

Ill get some pics up when they happen again. Sometimes I get blue screen and the pc restarts other times it is random errors that crash to the desktop. I thought it might be temps so I ran HW Monitor and my max temps never exceeded 60c on my cpu or gpu. Edit: I uploaded a pic of the BL2 crash. the max temp I hit on gpu was 63c and cpu 46c. |

RE: PC crashes during game play
That looks to me like a software to hardware related issue. Something about your setup BL2 doesn't like. These are usually the game's fault. As for the BSOD, if a complete reinstall of you OS and drivers don't fix it, then you have faulty hardware and should be replaced while you still can.
Sorry, can't help you much. ![]()

RE: PC crashes during game play
there is a lot of problems with bl2, including that appcrash error and bsods. steam forums are full of work arounds and quick fixes. same thing happened with the first BL. lots of coding bugs in that game dont really know about LOL though.
if you are worried about your machine having defective parts, id run aida or prime, 3dmark11 and memtest and see if it passes. |
