What kind of UPS should I get?
I'm building a 450 watt gaming rig from this guide:

http://www.hardware-revolution.com/budge...july-2012/

With the i5 processor and the 550 ti video card.

I'm putting this in at my office, and we live in florida so there's a lot of power outages. I need a UPS but I'm not sure what kind to get or how much wattage vs "VA".

Any recommendations?

min of 1000VA.
The stand by time increases with increase in VA.
I think APC has some good UPS but don't know any specific models which are good.

But will I be ok with a 300 watt UPS if my psu is 550 watts and it just mean I'll have less time on the battery when the power goes out? Or will my computer be underpowered with a 300 watt UPS when I have a 550 watt PSU?

This might hep you in selection.
I suggest you to get a sine wave UPS.

@Citizen
Done some research.
~650VA UPS should be fine with 500W PSU
