RE: Guild Wars 2 Pump Up Thread
never got into gw1 and although i loved the single player ff games, i never got into the mmo. Then again i'm not a hugely social person so mmo's to me tend to be frustrating for me as i don't have the time or patience to sit there wasting my small playtime trying to find a group that won't either stiff me for loot, abandon you in the middle of a dungeon just ebcause they're idjits or many other reasons. Here and tehre i found good groups, but few and far between. Just me though :-).I got bored silly with wow in no time as well.

SWTOR was actually good but as usual, yet another game destroyed by powergamers whining about end-game this and end-game that less than 2 weeks after it launched...really? I'll stop there as this isn't a thread about the uselessness of powergamers but about GW2 & i'm still waiting for an online friend to send me a diablo 3 guest pass....3 weeks ago now so he probably forgot about moi.

If i can get a demo for it at a later date i may give it a shot at that point as i failed to get into beta...not enough posts i guess ;-/. I had heard good reviews on the 1st and GW2 so far is mostly positive though many reviewers seem to be in "wait and see" mode with it.

FYI best game ever as far as fun, combat, innovation(at the time) and community?.....Asheron's call lol which should soon be celebrating it's 1 gazillionth anniversary. sorry for the length, i was grooving to some music and just couldn't stop typing...till now.

RE: Guild Wars 2 Pump Up Thread
I think GW2 sounds like a good fit for you as far as the social aspect. The active events, quests and just general mobs are all free for the taking. When a local event triggers anyone in the area can participate without needing to joining a specific group. If you see someone fighting something you can just run up and start fighting it too.

Leveling is pretty simple, you get XP for everything from local events and quest like things to discovering areas, crafting, etc. You also automatically scale your level to the area you're in so you can gain XP anywhere, anytime doing any event.

I'm completely sucked into it now, I've forgotten to eat while playing haha.

If you do get it, I'm on Stormbluff Isle server wise.

To give you an idea of how events work, here's a screen of a bunch of us that were doing an event together. I hadn't spoken to any of them.

RE: Guild Wars 2 Pump Up Thread
So yesterday I decided I would knuckle under and buy it, and all digital downloads were sold out and temporarily on hold, and my closest retail store was sold out. Pretty funny.

RE: Guild Wars 2 Pump Up Thread
So I pulled the trigger and find a final copy lying in the corner at a walmart. When I installed I got this message http://puu.sh/12ZjS. Has anyone had these issues and is upgrading to the beta drivers necessary?
