Can this motherboard take more than one system fan?
This was addressed in my last forum post with respect to HWR's recommendation for a $50 tier 0.50 through tier 2 budget gaming build, although it doesn't seem to be garnering much attention (the question's title, perhaps?)

Anyway, it seems my motherboard (recommended by HWR's April 26 budget build for tier 0.50 / tier 2 systems) has one system fan header, but any decent gaming rig (tier 2) should really have more than fan for proper cooling, should it not?

You can connect fans directly to the PSU power molex. You can use a fan controller to run your fans. They don't have to be connected to the motherboard, so it won't matter if the motherboard doesn't have enough fan headers.
