Wireless GPU announced by Nvidia? How will it work?
PCWorld has an article about Nvidia announcing a wireless GTX460? Weird, how would it work? I think you would need one hell of a router to route a mid-range gpu...

The cable between the CPU and the monitor isn't that big of a hassle for me... and I don't watch television... but this technology could get interesting... I foresee there being problems of a saturated wireless spectrum in dense housing areas (condos, apartments, etc..)

This is similar to Intel's WiDi if I'm not mistaken, which is basically wireless HDMI. While this is useful for a laptop, I don't see much of a use for a desktop, except perhaps playback on the desktop, that would be displayed on the HDTV in the next room or something alike.

With tech like this you could get screens in your bathroom mirrors and never have to worry about a cord. Just send the video or whatever to the "insert room name" monitor.

If you have wireless display and wireless commands (exist already, look at a BT mouse), tablets will be awesome: calculation and 3D power of the main desktop pc in a very light weight form for playing or surfing everywhere in the house!

Yea but BT doesn't transfer nearly as much data as a video card. Let alone a GTX 460, you would still need a pretty nice receiver on your tablet...I could imagine it with a lower end card but not a 460. Am I not realizing technology now days??

No you're right but maybe with a compression on the desktop, the data will be easier to transfer with just a little loss of quality. Look at http://www.onlive.com it's pretty the same concept.

Isn't OnLive where they stream a video to you as you play? Not a bad idea actually, you could virtually play any game on any computer as long as you have a badass internet connection.
