First time Build; Suggestions?
Hi guys, hoping you can have a look at this build and get some opinions/suggestions, especially on compatibility? Feel free to say its rubbish and suggest improvements if so!

I'm from the UK so improvising slightly with price and so on but looking to spend around £800-900 (around $1300)

The rig I'm looking for is something Mid-to-High End; capable of running all the classic games like Diablo 3 and Skyrim, etc on around a £200 monitor (thinking 17-21 inch), and hopefully high to max graphics (probably a bit ambitious but there you go).

Here it is;

POWER SUPPLY----Corsair TX 650W PSU

CPU-------------- AMD FX-6 6100 Hex Core 3.3GHz Processor

MOTHERBOARD----ASUS M5A97 Motherboard

RAM--------------4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz RAM

VIDEO CARD-------AMD/ATI 7950 3GB Graphics Card

HDD-------------Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATAIII 7200rpm Hard Drive

SDD--------------SanDisk Extreme 240GB

SOUND CARD------Integrated

OPTICAL DRIVE----High speed DVD and CD Rewriter

CASE------------Xigmatek Utgard Case

COOLING----------NZ XT Havik 140

I'm unsure about the sound; really trying to keep costs down; but should i really be looking to upgrade and compromise on other parts of the system? If so, where would be best?

Thanks so much for the help!!

Feel free to look at the guides published on this site specifically for different builds at different price ranges. It links to US sites, but it'll give you an idea of what items are good for which price range.

The only thing initially with your build is, we here don't recommend AMD for gaming as Intel beats AMD at basically every price level.

What Pineapple said, also I'd recommend 8GB of RAM, it's not that much more expensive and will significantly future-proof your PC.

RE: First time Build; Suggestions?
Excellent, thanks for the quick replies! I did find those builds really helpful; I was basing it around the Tier 6 build first of all but in UK prices for some reason it works out about £200-300 more expensive; hence some of the re-arranging.

Point taken about AMD though. Perhaps if I go back to maybe more Tier 5 instead, with the Core i5 3550 3.4Ghz for CPU and EVGA GeForce GTX 570 for Video instead, I can still keep cost down, but is this still going to be compatible?

Also if I can ask; what's your opinion on the motherboard/HDD/lack of sound card in this system? That's where I've saved the most money, with the sound I should be able to upgrade at a later date maybe, but as for the rest I want to make sure those aren't going to be weak links?

Cheers again

Yeah the ASUS Xonar DGX as recommended would be good. You could also cut down storage space on the HDD since your SSD is so large lol.
