Windows Vista Problem (Harddrive)
I have here a windows vista home basic Acer aspire x1700 and it keeps on freezing (i dont know wether the problem is from harddrive or software) so thats why i tried restoring it to factory setting. Upon the process my pc hangs again. So i turn it off and open again, after that an error on my screen "A disk read error missing Ctrl+Alt+Delete" appear and even tho i click the ctrl alt delete nothing happens. The only way i think was to turn it off then go to BIOS (Pressing F12 since im using Acer). There are 4 option on the BIOS, among the 4 only 1 of them works the rest are just letting me go back to the error(a disk read error. . .) so the option working was letting me go to the Acer eRecovery managemen - restore partition, then wait till it finish. Luckily it doesnt hang even tho i left it or hours. Upon complete or shall we say upon process, an error appears says "Restore failed - reason 0xd000001d" and i think it just in a cycle since i did the recovery again and error again upon recovery. Help me, anyone.

RE: Windows Vista Problem (Harddrive)
If you have access to a Windows 7 OS disc, try reinstalling the OS that way. Often times the manufacturer's method of recovery doesn't work as it should.
