SATA Cables

SATA Cables
My mobo came with 2 SATA cables, and I need 3. (HDD & DVD are OEM so no cables, and SSD doesn't include one in the box either.)

Are all SATA cables the same? Like if my 7 year old PC has one, can I salvage it without any loss in performance?

Also, assuming my old PC doesn't have any SATA cables, is it the kind of thing you can pick up at Radio Shack or Best Buy? It's not going to stop me from finishing my build because I can just leave my storage HDD disconnected for now but I would like to rectify the situation soon.

Also might want to add to the Tier 5/6 builds that if you get the Extreme3 Gen3 mobo + OEM HDD & DVD + Mushkin SSD, you're going to be one SATA cable short.

Interesting. He does mention that for tier 4-5 to get an additional SATA cable. So basically the extreme3 gen3 or the Pro3 come with one less cable than the Extreme4 Gen3?

I got the E4 G3 and those 3 peripherals and I had enough cables for everything.

RE: SATA Cables
Yup definitely only 2 cables. I checked and that's all it's supposed to come with. At first I thought maybe mine was just packaged incorrectly.
