Question tier 2 build if I swap some pieces.
I was planning on building the tier 2 computer off of this site but tiger direct emailed this deal(its canadian)

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/s...=CANEM2448

It would force me into a different case/mother board but it would save me money and give me a better i5 then the 2400. Anyways is this mother board the same, better or worse then the tier 2 build I was making.

Mother board that comes with this barebone - http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/S...CatId=7162

VS

Mother board that is recommended in tier 2 build - http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/S...key=H61MGC

Also I would be getting Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad-Core Unlocked CPU rather then the Intel Core i5-2400 3.10 GHz 6 MB Cache Socket LGA1155 Processor.

This barebone comes with the same hard drive that is recommended. Obviously I wouldn't use this bad power supply that comes with it but even so I would be saving a lot of money so I guess it all comes down to if this mother board is the same quality or better then the one that is recommended here.

Thanks once again for all your help.

I know nothing really about specs of stuff...the mother boards look similar to me though.

The case isn't going to have the best airflow and yes the power supply should be changed if your getting a Graphics cards. also make sure the case has enough room to fit the GPU.
Case: Corsair Carbide Air 540 CPU: i5 3570K Cooler: Water Loop Motherboard: ASrock Extreme 3 Gen 3 Z68
Memory:
Corsair Vengeance 8gb] Video Card: EVGA GTX 1070 FE Power Supply: Corsair TX 750w
Storage:
Samsung 840 120gb
Monitor:
Acer S231HLbid 23" Mouse: RAZER DeathAdder 3.5G Keyboard: Ducky DK9008G2 PRO MX Cherry Blue

Yea I am getting a graphics card and I was not going to use the shitty PSU that comes in this. Well if I have to buy a different case anyways that would be the 100$ im saving so its pointless for me to get this over the tier 2 build.

But I am still curious is this mother board worse or better then the biostar?

The motherboard looks similar, the only thing i can think of is maybe one is more reliable then the other however either one should work fine. The MSI is 59.99 after you use the 10 dollar rebate and the biostar is 59.99 without any rebates

EDIT: The msi has alot more bad reveiws on newegg then the biostar.

Yea I know but I got mailed this special for 399$

MSI H61M-P23 B3 Intel H61 Motherboard - Qty: 1
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad-Core Unlocked CPU - Qty: 1
Patriot 4GB DDR3-1333MHz G2 Desktop Memory Module - Qty: 2
Thermaltake V2 ATX Mid Tower Case with 450W PSU - Qty: 1
Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA6G 3.5" Internal HDD - Qty: 1
Sony Optiarc AD7280S-OB 24x DVDRW Drive - Qty: 1

I am buying this as per the tier 2 build anyways
Intel Core i5-2400 190$
BIOSTAR H61MGC Intel H61 Motherboard 59.99
G.Skill 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333MHz 37.99
Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA6G 3.5" Internal HDD 84.97
LG SATA 22X DVD Burner 18$
COOLER MASTER CM690 II Advanced 2x120mm + 1x140mm 89.99

For a grand total of 480$

So if I could use this case I would be saving 80$ plus getting a better processor and a free shitty 450w power supply(which I would not use on my new computer)...but it makes it pointless to save 80$ if I have to spend that on a case anyways id rather just stick to the tier 2 build that is here Smile.
