Antec Earthwatts 650
Over on the "6 Surefire Ways to Blow up your computer" article that Mathieu wrote, at the bottom he suggests this Antec EarthWatts 650 as the best PSU for ~$75.

Unfortunately, if you follow that link, that PSU is no longer provided through newegg.

However, this Antec Earthwatts 650 PSU is in stock.

I was looking at the specification differences between the two, and while I have no idea what exactly they all mean, one thing stuck out: the first PSU (the deactivated one) has 3 +12V rails compared to only 2 +12V rails of the latter PSU.

Could someone (who has more electrical knowledge than I) help me figure out if the newer(?) earthwatts 650 PSU is still a good PSU to buy?

I was looking at purchasing the Rosewill HIVE 550 PSU suggested for tier 5 builds, but the 650 earthwatt is cheaper

RE: Antec Earthwatts 650
The newer Earthwatts 650W is an all right PSU, not particularly good or bad. Note that it doesn't come with a power cord.

I'd go with the Rosewill HIVE 550W, I'd consider it slightly higher quality. Also, it's modular, which makes cable management a lot easier.
