Exclamation  2 Kits Of 6GB Or One Of 12GB?
Is there any real difference in two kits of and one of ?

I had the opportunity to get the 6 Gig kits today as a Shell Shocker on Newegg for a mere $64.99 each. Should I have? I want scientific answers... Tongue

Edit: It's still in my shopping cart at the discount price. Should I bite? I hope to build a high end Core I7 Multimedia/Gaming system...

The sticks in the 12gb kit are tested together, to ensure compatibility, while the two 6gb kits are not together Meaning that they are not guaranteed to work together. From experience, they usually do though.

If anything, get three sticks of 4gb instead of 6x2gb. You're less likely to get a defective stick or a compatibility issue and you'll have three free slots if you want to upgrade to 24gb in the future.

The ones that I recommend in the just published high-end Gaming PCs article are $140.
