Tier 4 Mainstream CPU question (upgrade)
So I was planning on using your handy dandy guide to build myself a new computer for the impending release of Diablo 3. I was planning on building the Tier 4 but I ran into a little dilemma.

I got a MicroCenter ad today in the mail and they are advertising i5-2500k for $180. (Whereas the i5-2500 is still listed at 209 on amazon.

This seems like a no brainer to me. Grab the discounted i5-2500k (the suggested for tier 6-7.

I want to know what I'd need to upgrade in the computer to play nice with the upgraded CPU.

I don't plan to overclock it all that much (i can adequately build and fix my own computers, but the manipulation of specs still confuses me) and I want to make sure my processor, RAM, MoBo and GPU all talk without any problems.

Some food for thought: The following MoBo's are being offered in a deal with the i5-2500k processor, and I'd get $50 off one of them if I purchase it with the processor in the same transaction.
-ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 LGA 1155 Z68
-ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 LGA 1155 Z68
-ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Z68
-Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Z68
-Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA 1155 Z68
-ASUS P8Z68-V LX LGA 1155 Z68
-ASRock Z68 Pro3-M Socket 1155 Z68
-Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 LGA 1155 Z68

I see the ASRock Extreme 4 is suggested for the i5-2500k's tier, but in the p67 version, the $50 deal on the MoBo is only for Z68's.

Id really appreciate some input on whether any of these boards are worth the deal, or if I should just buy a different board all together.

Oh, and I was still planning to get the suggested case for the tier 4 build.

I'd definately take advantage of the $50 credit and buy one of those boards. What I hear is that black boards for gigabyte is generally better for OC'ing compared to blue boards so that UD3H-B3 would be pretty decent for 115 bucks. If not, the Extreme 4 Z68 would still be cheaper than the P67 version after the $50 credit.

Anyone else have any other input? Which of those boards are better?

I was planning on getting a GTX 560TI and a SSD, would 500W be sufficient for those (main) pieces?
