A Mobo Question!
Is this mobo better than the one in budget build?

MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

vs the budget one..

ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

cause the MSI is only 10 bucks more!

i want to finalize the build so bad! so far i only deviated with the mobo
and the PS, i picked antec 650w 80 plus cause theres a sale.. quick reply would be awesome!!

MSI GTX 460 768MB
Antec EarthWatts 650W 80 Plus
Geil Value 4GB 2x2
AMD Athlon II X3 455

It is my first build, very scared and Confused concerned with the mobo/ps switcheroo.

RE: A Mobo Question!
Well, when I compare the two motherboards, I'm pretty sure that you'll be just fine with the MSI. However, I only glanced at real quick, and the differences I saw between the prices (after rebate) was $25.

And for the power supply, the Antec 650w is actually cheaper than the Antec 550w, for a short time, if I'm reading that correctly. So I don't see why you couldn't get the better PS, for less money. So you should be good to go with both upgrades, if you choose to do so.

Although if anyone who has more experience please give their opinion? I'm still learning and don't want to unknowingly make a mistake on someone else's build.

RE: A Mobo Question!
Motherboard wise, the MSI comes with a newer chipset (870 vs 770), Crossfire support (useless if you use Nvidia cards) as well as SATA 6.0Gb/s and USB 3.0. Not worth $40 ($25 after MIR) more in my opinion.

For the PS, I assume that you mean this one?

If that's the case, sure go for it, it would be a fine choice.

RE: A Mobo Question!
Thank you for your input guys! I tried to be super duper saver and got the mobo for the sata 6/3 thing for $10 (instead Mathieu's upgrade $15) - after rebate of course.. Although, I have no idea how far I'll go in upgrading and such later on because I am a total beginner. After I ordered it, I read more reviews and was so worried.. about DOA and compatibility. This process is a little bit scary for me, quite nervous.

But update, all the parts are here except OS and HD (amazon's) so.. once that gets here I'll be able to get to work and pray that all ends well. I realized the significance of modular a bit late as well, but this is my first time damn it! Once again, thank you guys and Happy New Years!!
