Biostar Budget Mainboard + Soundcard
Hi,

I'm browsing for a new mainboard right now and I read the budget guide again.
The recommended mainboard only has a PCIe x1 slot, but the recommended (upgrade) Soundcard is a PCI card.
I didn't remember that the PCI and PCIe were compatible.
But maybe it is. If not, were would that card fit on the board?
I'm a little bit confused. ^^

The card:

RE: Biostar Budget Mainboard + Soundcard
Your correct, the card won't fit with a video card on that board. However, what I think Matheiu was trying to say was the Xonar, which was written in blue font, was meant for the mobos written in blue font.

You're correct: A PCI sound card won't fit in a PCI-Express 1x slot. That was an oversight of mine, my apologies.

My recommendation would be the USB based Xonar U3, which is pretty much the same as the Xonar DG, but in an USB stick. I use it on my laptop with my Audio-Technica AHT-M50 headphones and it does an excellent job: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Xonar-Sound-C...0054L8GVK/

Edit: Updated the Budget Gaming PCs to reflect that correction. Thanks for pointing it out!
