Sound Card/Speakers
Hey,

This kind of relates to Phyrre56's thread on sounds cards but I didn't want to invade his. I recently got a $50 gift card for being a hard little worker sent from the Company president himself.

I recently built my pc and opted out of a sound card. And I have an old set of speakers but turning them on makes a loud buzzing that makes them practically unusable. I mostly use headphones anyways but it's nice to have the option to take them off.

It's kind of Phyrre's same question, are speakers with on-board sound worth-while? I could see getting the ~$30 sound card Mathieu recommends: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Channel-Sound...=pd_cp_e_0 and maybe another $30 for some basic speakers. Any recommendations?

Also that current sound card is sold out at amazon and newegg, any other places or suggestions of similar quality cards at similar price? Well it's not sold-out at amazon, but amazon itself is out of stock so I can't get it's free shipping.

RE: Sound Card/Speakers
That link you posted says the card is in stock.
But I would spent more on the speakers.

Have those speakers always made that buzzing sound? If they are not broken it might be because they are not properly shielded and another source creates some interference.
E.g. someone working with a plugged-in laptop near you. (The AC/DC Adapter creates a strong dynamic electro magnetic field).
