Chance of any good deals on video cards so close to christmas? Aldvice needed
I have been checking on good deals for video cards the whole month of December and even though my understanding of them isn't great i cant seem to find anything good. Is it likely there will be any good deals this close to christmas? Or right after christmas?

My price range is a bit above $200 i have been lookin at these so far:

EVGA 01G-P3-1560-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
219.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...llFullInfo

MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II OC Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
239.99 with rebate

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...llFullInfo

PowerColor AX6950 2GBD5-2DH Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
229.99 with rebate

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...067296&SID=

I did like the first one due to not being a fan of rebates but theres somethin about a mini hdmi, i didnt know that even existed but it sounds like a pain.

But anyway can anyone tell me whats best for value? Or if they know if any better deals, thanks alot!

Out of those, I'd go with the powercolor radeon hd 6950 2GB, seeing as it's less expensive than the MSI model and that the radeon hd 6950 2gb, on average, is faster than the gtx 560 ti.

If you're not in a rush, the Radeon HD 7xxx series should launch around January 9th. That will surely cause the 6xxx series and gtx 5xx cards to drop in price.

That or you could also snag a great deal on on Ebay/craigslist and the like, on a used card from people selling their cards to get one of the new Radeon HD 7xxx series cards.

Ah i see, thanks mathieu i did want to try finish my build before i started work in january, will the price drop be worth the wait or just minor savings?

Good advice about the craigslist and ebay too. Altho it is my first build so it'd be nice having everything new so i can experience the whole opening a brand new package on every piece :p

Anyway thank you, if i get bored waiting i will just take your recomendation.

It's hard to say regarding the price drop. It all depends on the level of performance and price of the new cards and which cards get released right away and which ones later on.
