Well, I could add a second fan to lower temperatures. I didn't really try to push further than 3.6Ghz either, was happy with that. I know 3.7-3.8 wouldn't be hard, 4.0Ghz is doable too.

If I really wanted to push things, I'd probably get a Scythe FleX with two 120mm fans in push/pull. Sure, it's no Noctua, but it's also half the price.

As for noise, PVM keeps the fan very quiet in my setup. Got a fan controller for the case fans too, it sure helps.

Meh. I'm probably going to get a Noctua just for the sake of it. At least I'm not as bad as my friend, who disables one core of his Phenom just to be annoying. Tongue

Got all my parts from NewEgg yesterday and stayed up till 4 am putting it together. It was a pretty slow process since it was my first build and it took a while to figure out all the assembly instructions. Put off trying to turn it on until this afternoon, since I was too tired to troubleshoot last night. So after work today I hooked up a monitor, keyboard and mouse, flipped the power switch and...

Success!!

Everything powered up nicely and I was able to get into the BIOS to set the date and such. Now I'm going crazy waiting for Amazon to deliver my Windows 7 OS. Please hurry Mr. Postman!
