Best HDD?
Hey, could you guys give your opinion on which one of these hard drives is better value for money? They seem identical to me, and I'm unsure of which one to go for. I naturally want the one that will last the longest, and still perform well for running games and booting up. (Currently have a crappy HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...llFullInfo )

Anyway, these are the hard drives:

Also, are there major differences in 32mb and 16mb? I'm running Windows 7 64bit, and with my current hard drive it's slow, and is continually crashing and generally being a nuisance with blue screens and random stuff. I think I'll just do a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit on the new hard drive, and scrap the old one, or should I keep this old one? I'm not sure, please give me any suggestions. PS. Other suggestions for hard drives around the same price are welcome Smile

Thanks!

This would be the 2nd fastest and the most reliable hard drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/146252-samsung-spi...em-hd502hj

Hard Drives that don't fail early can usually last 10 years +

You most definitely want to a fresh install of Windows on the new hard drive. You can keep the old one if you want, for backups and the like. Consider putting it in an external enclosure for backups.

Thanks, I think I'm going for the Barracuda hard drive, but I think the one from ebuyer doesn't supply everything required apart from the screws. Would I be right in thinking that I would be fine using the SATA cable from my power supply (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/240998)? I don't need any other special cables, right?

RE: Best HDD?
Most hard drives include pretty much just the drive itself. Depending on your case, you might need some screws. The hard drive will need power from the power supply and you'll also need a SATA data cable to connect the hard drive to the motherboard.
