Greetings !
Hello there ladies and gents. I'm just an old coder who's recently retired from the gaming dev. meat-grinder..." ahem "... I mean industry. Rolleyes Needless to say, I've always had a passion for PC tech, gaming and an inherently flat ass.

I'm finally finding the extra time time to give some serious attention to the finer points of current PC tech advances and I consider myself of moderate, skills, but it's moving so quickly now, that each time I feel I've nailed something down, the current 5-6mo. phase has moved into the next. Problem too is that my kids are all long past 12 years old now, so I can't turn to them either. They all still seem to think I can fix/upgrade all their rigs though.

Been passing through a large number of similar sites recently - what with all the amazing amount of conflicting, inaccurate and occasionally " mysterious refusal " of hardware retailer and manufacturer information ( which just plain burns my ass ) - I've come to find the most reliable sharing of realistically concise general knowledge, system and hardware trouble-shooting experience in the forums.

This site, I must say, is a refreshingly informative and well put together corner of the web and I offer my kudos to the admin(s) and authors. See you here and there ! Now...on to a query or two...

Nice to have you aboard Naroe. Coders are a group of pros who are so under appreciated because they operate in the "shadows" unfortunately.

After learning some HTML, PHP, CSS and building up quite a few Ubuntu Linux servers in the last few years, my appreciation and recognition of the hard work that coders do has certainly increased.

What kind of coding have you done? In January I am starting school for coding. The first term I have all those fun pre-reqs but I do have a "Fundamentals of programming" class.
