HDD question
Hey all,

my new system has been working just fine, and I just decided tonight to salvage my 250GB Seagate IDE HDD from my old system and add it to my new one, so I could have a place to keep stuff that isn't crucial

So I have a question, the old drive being a slower IDE drive, will it slow my system down at all or have any negative effects?

I don't intend to install any programs on it.

RE: HDD question
As far as i know u'll be alright, as long as its not a RAID, only the data accessed from that drive would be slow, so i wouldn't install programs on it. but your other drive should be unaffected.

RE: HDD question
Like Chiko said, as long as you don't put programs on it, only the data accessed from that drive will be slow, it won't affect anything that's on other drives.
