Adam's New "Work"station
So the main reason I'm building this is that I just upgraded my photography equipment majorly (for any of you photography buffs, think Canon 7D & Canon 5D Mk II with 3 new "L" lenses and two new speedlites). Anyway, my crappy old laptop just couldn't process those images in Lightroom3... and if I'm going to build a new computer, I don't want to see 20 fps on Call of Duty - Black Ops! (or whatever else looks like more fun than editing pictures of girls in bikinis (heh heh)).

First the specs:

Now I just need the memory and at least one of the monitors to come in so I can see if it's all working. Installation, so far, has been very straightforward. I LOVE this case! Plenty of room to work, easy to get at everything, putting in the hard drives and optical drives was a breeze!

Great MOBO too, very clearly labeled, well thought out!

More to come tomorrow (hopefully... all I really NEED is the memory, I have spare monitors)!

RE: Adam's New "Work"station
Looks awesome so far! Since my build is pretty much gonne be purely a gaming computer, I just stuck with the i5, though I admit I'm jealous Wink lol! And I bet that 2x24" monitor setup is gonna be beautiful!

Hope your memory gets there tomorrow!

Thanks... one good result of sitting around and waiting for the memory, I actually took the time to go through and tidy up the wiring as much as possible... you can't see it in these pics, but I'll be sure to post it when I get ready to close it up Smile

Oh, and I'm pretty sure the Crossfire bridge is on backwards in this photo, I turned it around Smile

I still can't see crossfire without thinking this.

I'm with you on the wiring thing, it looks pretty clean in the pics but honestly I've never build a computer so I'm not too sure just how clean it can look yet! The large window in the side of my case will make sure I see just how clean I can get it, though lol!

Get this thing together! I wanna see those red LEDs!

I am UP AND RUNNING! Not a single hitch... running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.... not a single "beep" or error! Time to straighten everything up, install all of my extra goodies, update all of my drivers, then take a few pictures!

Thank you HR! 100% compatible components! SWEET!

Nice set up, similar to my build but I like the amount of room you have in that case. I have an Antec 900 and my HIS Radeon 6850 came too close to the bays imo, but looks like you have plenty of clearance.

RE: Adam's New "Work"station
It's sweet. The ASUS overclocking utility takes it to 3.89 mHz... running Prime 95 64-bit, I get up to 71c... I need to look into settings, see how this temp looks, maybe adjust the cooler?
I need to do a lot of research... I have the ASUS AI Suite running on the second monitor, so I can keep an eye on temps and such, it's overclocking on the fly, adjusting the system to what I'm doing... but Call of Duty - MW with maxed settings at 1920x1080 is 140 fps most of the time, slowing to about 120 in heavy firefights...
