New builder question
Okay I'm going to put my game face on and build one of these things. My one question to ask so far is:
I'm going with an Intel i5 2500 and have no plans to overclock it and will be using using the cooler included with the CPU. Do I need to use thermal paste in this situation when I'm going with just the stock cooling? I assume thermal paste would not come with the cpu purchase. Appreciate your help... |

RE: New builder question
The CPU heatsink has a thermal pad which serves the same function as thermal paste. So no, you don't need to buy separate thermal paste.

RE: New builder question
Why not spend the additional $15 and get the unlocked K model, just in case in the future you do want to overclock it?

RE: New builder question
Too bad you should have decided to build this a couple of days ago. Newegg had an open box sales for super good motherboards for super cheap. Too bad I decided to buy all my parts a couple of days before the sale =(
