Looking For a laptop, very limited choices.
My laptop just died on me and I'm looking for a replacement. The bad news is that it has to be from bestbuy.com. The reason for this is my last was replaced under their warranty, so I have $700 in store credit. I was looking at the alienware mx14 here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Alienware---...merreviews since it has decent reviews, a ivy bridge i7, and dedicated graphics. I also want it to be semi portable, 14 inch or smaller.

I was also looking at some ultra books, since I will mainly use it for schoolwork, but think it would be cool to be able to play Diablo 3 out at a friends. I just finished a mid tier gaming build desktop, so the laptop doesnt need to be amazing.

So, if anyone happens to be familiar with best buys selection, I would love some help. Like I said, I have 700 in store credit, but would be willing to double it with my own money.
I also plan on putting a ssd in.

Have you checked out the newest article published? You could check to see if those laptops are on the best buy website.

How about the new Vaio S series (comes in 13.3" or 15.5"). They are less than 1 inch thick, fairly light, equipped with Ivy Bridge, has high resolution displays (IPS display for the 15.5"), and comes with a mid range video card (Nvidia 640M LE). Even the 15.5" screen version is overall more portable than the Alienware. Of course, the gaming performance of these are not as good as the Alienware, but thats what you have your desktop for. The 640m LE can handle Diablo 3 pretty well.

Thanks for the reply! I had picked up the Alienware m14x R2, and, even though it is a great portable gaming rig, the battery life is horrible...Even after several full charges I am only getting around 2-2.5 hrs battery with wifi and internet browsing only...Even disabled the lights, geforce card, and lowered brightness way down...

I think I may give the Sony 13.3 in a try. From the very little reviews I have seen it will run Diablo 3 and even Skyrim decently, perfect for the long days I am stuck at college campus between classes. And should easily get 6-7 hrs on wifi with office running. Not to mention the weight being half of my old laptop and this alienware.

And one other thing...I did browse the most recent article, and none of the items were on Best Buy...But this sony looks like a keeper.

The Sony S series have always been a favorite of mine. Portable, well built, looks nice, includes a mid range video card, etc.
