RE: Budget Gaming PC parts choices
Optical drive: To avoid, it's based on the older IDE standard, which is starting to disappear from modern PCs. Get one with a SATA interface.

CPU Cooler would be to avoid as well, it's worse than the included one with the CPU and it can only handle CPUs that output up to 65W.

The Phenom II X2 is rated for 80W, the Phenom II X3 is rated for 95W, if you unlock either, you're reaching 130W and even more if you overclock, so that CPU Cooler wouldn't be adequate.

The best deal for a good CPU Cooler on NewEgg is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 +. It will easily handle an unlocked and overclocked CPU: It's what I use for my own Phenom II X2 555 unlocked to a quad-core and overclocked to 3.6GHz. Also it costs only $30, or $15 after Mail-in Rebate, compared to $50+ for other good CPU Coolers, hence why I recommended it in the first place.
Laptop: MSI GS30 Shadow-045 Dimensions: 12.6" x 8.9" x 0.8" 2.65lbs CPU: Intel Core i7-4870HQ Quad-Core + Hyper-Threading OC 2.5-3.9GHz RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Video Card: Intel Iris Pro 5200 Storage: 2x128GB SDD RAID0 Audio: ASUS Xonar U3 USB Sound Card + Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones Screen: 13.3" - 1920 x 1080 IPS + 27" Dell P2715Q IPS 3840 x 2160 Keyboard: Filco Majestouch MX Cherry Blue Mouse: Logitech MX518
