Graphics card driver crashing Again - LordBuffalo - 06-12-2016

My computer used to have a graphics card driver crashing problem in intensive games, but the problem had seemed to go away. Recently however, the problem came back and its worse. It crashes in games that are even less intensive, such as Roblox. I have a theory but I'm not entirely sure if its correct. I believe that it may have something to do with the power supply because I attempted to OC the graphics card and it just made it crash more often.

I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on the situation and tell me why this might be happening?

My build:
Case: DEEPCOOL TESSERACT BF Mid Tower
Ram: Klevv Fit 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Cpu Fan/Heatsink: Deepcool GAMMAXX 200T 120mm Hydro
Cpu: Intel Core I3-4170
Hard Drive: WD Blue 500GB Desktop Hard Disk Drive
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti 2Gb GDDR5
PSU: Antec VP-450
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-HD3

what OS? and what version of the graphics card driver?

Also, not sure if it is relevant but what monitor/resolution and which cable type are you using?

RE: Graphics card driver crashing Again - LordBuffalo - 06-13-2016

Windows 10, Nvidia Game Ready Driver v368.39. I game at 720P or 1080P on 1024*768. I use a VGA cable. (VGA is fine, don't hate on it e.e) I don't believe it has anything to do with the driver as I've tried about 30 different versions.

does it crash on any of the graphics stress tests?

Furmark, unigine heaven,

does it crash on any of the rendering tests like Cinebench?

are you watching temps, and voltages with tools like HWiNFO64 ? I"m not sure what that card has that can be monitored.

anything in the windoze event logs?

( I really don't know just tossing out ideas to start looking)...

RE: Graphics card driver crashing Again - LordBuffalo - 06-14-2016

I have already tried all of these, but thanks for trying anyway. The card doesn't crash in any of the benchmarks and the system log only shows the driver crashing.

could be 2 problems, first reset the gpu to default stock clock settings(and sometimes down clocking if it is a factory overclocked card). i highly doubt that this is the problem since you can stress test it ok. i more suspect it is a a driver update that is not yet stable wih certain games. this is a common issue with nvidia cards and the only way to fix it is to roll back the driver to a previous version. also if you do not have the latest drivers already installed, install it first to see if that fixes the problem before trying the driver rollback.

also if it was a power supply problem then it would also crash during the stress test since these tests call for 100% duty and max voltage.

LordBuffalo. Still having issues or is it resolved? Got some solid advice here but if your still stuck have a few other ideas from my Nvidea experience.

Hope all is well.

Im still having the issues, I'm sorry that it took me so long to respond but I was on vacation. I've already tried the driver rollbacks to no avail.

Sorry to hear. Are you using driver sweeper in safe mode after you uninstall the drivers each time or simply just uninstalling and installing? If not, recommend you do the following:
Download driver sweeper 3.2.0 by Phyxion.net HERE (I have used this versus the supposed replacement called Display Driver Uninstaller - Win 10 may require the latest but try anyway). Uninstall the drivers entirely. Reboot into safe mode.
Run driver sweeper as admin. Unstall the Nvidea drivers left over.
Reboot normally
Rerun driver sweeper again.
Try installing a stable WHQL driver (like 335.23?)
Run the same games again and let us know if it helps or where you crash.

I tried doing this, but it didn't change a single thing in terms of how it crashes and where, I'm beginning to think of getting a new graphics card. Would getting an RX 480 (Or GTX 1060 when it comes out) be a possible way of solving the issue?
