You should go with a sandybridge chipset instead of the Lynnfield. Also what are you planning to do with the computer. If you are just building it for games then go with the i5 2500 (unless you want to overclock in which case go with the i5 2500k). If you are planning on doing video editing or other thread intensive tasks then go with the i7 2600 (2600k if you plan on overclocking).

+1 to going with Sandybridge.

In short, hold off your build for a few days, I'm in the process of updating the Mainstream Gaming PCs Wink

I also vouch for Sandybridge. What I love most about them is how cool they run. I'm running with no case fans and this thing runs 55C load.

I also support waiting for Sandy Bridge. It's really worth waiting since the Core i7 8xx series was launched in 2009.

If you're overclocking, I also recommend upgrading to the Corsiar A70. It's much quieter if that matters to you.

Can't wait for the update. I've been holding off my build until I see your update. Any day now right? ;p

Same here. Big Grin

I'm working on it, it just takes time to make sure that it's as good as it can be Wink
