Typical Graphics Card Question - tdot - 04-07-2012 Hey Guys. I posted a thread a short while ago explaining the build I am planning on in anticipation of Guild Wars 2 and one of the parts left unresolved was which graphics card to pick. I've narrowed it down to 3 options and was looking for some input. Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB (OC edition) $250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102987 Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB (OC edition) $260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102984 Wait for ~$250 nvidia 600 card What do you think? RE: Typical Graphics Card Question - MathieuB - 04-07-2012 On average, the 7850 is slightly faster than the 6950, while consuming less power and having more overclocking headroom, so that's an easy choice. As for a $250 Nvidia card, I don't think that we'll see that for a while. From what I'm hearing, we'll be seeing the GTX 670 and 670 Ti in May, maybe at the end of April, but the GTX 560 Ti won't be replaced until summer. RE: Typical Graphics Card Question - ichigeki - 04-07-2012 For that price range, the HD 7850 is the only choice =P. RE: Typical Graphics Card Question - tdot - 04-07-2012 Ok. That's what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot, guys. |
