Yesterday I fired up the computer and all I got was the black screen and the flashing hashmark of the cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
It turns out that my bios lost my SSD, which is my boot drive. I reset the Bios and all is well again.
What causes does this happen? Why would the Bios lose my C drive and switch to my E drive as the primary boot drive?

Did you flash your motherboard's bios then that happen or you updated the SSD's firmware then that happened?
If for some reason your motherboard just lost your SSD and everything is fine again after a CMOS, it might be your motherboard.

I did nothing to anything.
Motherboard has been running flawlessly for 4 months so I tend to think that it's OK.
