Hello all wanted to say great site and has been helpful in me getting up to date on the new gaming hardware. i use to build PC's a few years back but since got out of the building when i grew a nice family. So I am comfortable with and around the inside of a PC. What i am trying to do now is go for a nice steady none overclocked gaming PC for me and my lady. She plays Wow and i will be playing newer shooters and MMO's. i also will be going back into web design and digital drawing so I will need to be able to handle adobe cs4 and after effects. So what I have done is gone and picked what i might do for a build and staying under 2 k with out the shipping and see what I have come up with. Feel free to correct any mistakes or help in anyway possible.

CPU--Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

Motherboard--ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 LGA 1155 Intel P67

Video--2x --HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX

Ram--G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

Harddrive--OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTX160G 2.5" 160GB SATA II

CPU cooler--ZALMAN CNPS10X Performa 120mm Long life CPU Cooler

with ARCTIC COOLING AF12PWM 120mm Case Fan installed

DVD drive-- ASUS Black 24X i do not plan on doing blue ray i have theater for that

and artice cooling compound for the CPU to fan.

I will use the stock MOBO sound and network for now as i do not use wireless ever. sound i will take some advice for a nice surround sound card for later.

If you're not planning on overclocking, why not get the Core i5-2500 instead of the 2500K? It's the same speed and cheaper, just without the overclocking capabilities.

Besides from that, everything looks good. Good luck with the build!

As both an avid user of Photoshop and a similar machine I can assure you it runs well. One problem though is that Photoshop (CS5) won't use the gpu enhancements because of an unspecified driver error. I'm hoping AMD fixes this in the next version of the drivers.

For Photoshop and digital drawing, you'd be better off with the Core i7-2600, since it comes with Hyper-Threading, unlike the Core i5-2500. Photoshop will definitely benefit from that upgrade.

The rest looks good to me, just keep in mind to go with a PCI-Express 1x sound card and not a PCI one when you get it, otherwise you won't be able to install it, since the 2nd video card will block the PCI slot.
