Thanks. What's the difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions?
You want 64 bit. It will let you fully utilize your RAM assuming you have 4GB or more. The only downside is 16 bit programs won't work (very old).
Basically, 32-bit systems can only use up to 4GB of memory in total, including memory on your video card, cache memory on various devices, etc., allowing you to only use up to 2.xxGB of RAM instead of your full capacity if you have a 1GB video card.

I've been recommending 64-bit-only Windows 7 on all systems for a while now, it fully supports 32-bit programs and has no major issue compared to 32-bit. Have been using it myself since March on my Workstation, no problem at all.
